ERAVIKULAM(RAJAMALAI)NATIONAL PARK



Eravikulam national park is 45 minutes from munnar.nilagiri thar has a great importance in eravikulam. mountain goats, rolling grasslands and sholas are the great significance in here.the visitors can only use forest department vehicle to see all this.no other private vehicles are allowed.this park is closed during earlier months of every year.

HINNAR WILD LIFE SANCTUARY

Due to the significant variation in altitude and rainfall, it has a wide array of habitat Types like deciduous forests, dry thorny forest, riparian types, sholas and grasslands That are interspersed with plains, hillocks, rocks and cliffs which provide Microhabitats for varied forms of life. an extincted species reported from the chinnar Wildlife sanctuary.i tis a repository in which we can found so many medicinal Plants. The famous ‘white bison of Manjampatti’ has been recently reported from Chinnar.

RAJAMALA
Rajamala is 16 kms from munnar.here the best significance is rajamalai-eravikulam wildlife sanctuary.it must be popular in india. Mountains are beautiful scenery in here it covers with rolling grasslands and shoals .The park is divided into three areas such as : core area,buffer area and tourism area. Visitors are only allowedto in the tourism area.trekking facilities are available here. In this park we can see the exotic birds and animals such as elephant.malabar civet, and python   etc..

KUNDALA DAM


Kundala is a beautiful green town, 20 kilometers from munnar.it is in the way to Top Station.Kundala is a very beautiful lake with splendid views of rich forests. There are boats available for hiring. Hiring provides pleasent to the tourists  by watching the forests and hills.kundala lake is the most photographed part.

KOLUKKUMALAI TEA ESTATE
Kolukkumalai tea estate is 30 kilometers outside of munnar.and this tea estate is built about 8,000 feet from the sea level.and it is popular with excellent flavorsome teas.provides panoramic views. To reach this place takes 90 minutes from munnar.because of its height in clear night we can see kodaikanal.
There is a factory in the center of the tea estate . the step for orthodox tea making includes these processes withering, rolling, sieving, fermenting, drying, fiber extraction, and grading.
MUNNAR DEVIKULAM


It is situated  7km from munnar.devikulam is popular with “THE SITA DEVI LAKE and it is a natural mineral water lake. Because of this name dthe place can get the name
Devikulam.tj eliteral meaning of the sita devi lake is THE POND OF GOODNESS.


 ATTUKAL WATERFALS
It is a scenic waterfall amidst hills and jungles, which is located between Munnar and Pallivasal. It is just 9 km away from Munnar and a place renowned for its beautiful locales, glittering waterfalls, and rolling hills.  trekking and hiking is available here. Definitely, this place is a feast for the senses.

MUNNAR CSI-CHURCH

Csi church in munnar is a popular destination.and it is an important landmark in munnar.it is a protestant church mostly build up in stones, by scotissh tea manager and workers in the tea estate. The main attraction of this Church is its charming interiors which still retain stained-glass windows, brass plaques, rows of rosewood pews and an ornate chandelier.there is a cemetery adjacent of this church with tombs. Csi church is run by the munnar church  mission society.

Topstaion located on both the borders of tamilnadu(theni district) and kerala(idukki district) states.it      provides panoramic view of munnar.it is at an altitude of 1700 meters.
Top station is popular with NEELAKURINJI FLOWERS. it blooms once in 12 years. Last time neelakurinji bloomed in the year 2006. When bloomed it provides double fragrance to full munnar tea estate. That time tea planation become blue.dont miss this marvellous view...
 ECHO POINT

Echo Point , as its name resembles, gives you the pleasure of hearing your voice returning to you again and again. Located 13 km from Munnar, Echo Point is a popular adventure tourism destination. Trekking and nature walks are popular activities in this scenic destination with beautiful views of the green hills. Echo Point falls in the way to the Top Station.

CHEEYAPPARA WATERFALS

The Cheeyappara Waterfalls is one of the beautiful waterfalls of evergreen Kerala and is a great eco-tourism destination of the region.and it is 35 kms from munnar. It is one of the significant excursion points lying in the region surrounding Cochin. The famous Cheeyappara Waterfalls of Kerala are somewhere between Neriamangalam and Adimali along the highway linking Cochin and Madurai. The Cheeyappara Waterfalls is one of Kerala's most magnificent waterfalls. You can see water cascading down here over seven steps. It is situated at an altitude  1000 feet above sea level.

MUNIYARA CAVE



Muniyara Cave – it ius used by the tribals to live in .at 1 km away from Marayoor on the way to Kanthalloor. These caves have been made of huge rocky planks or slabs. These caves are hollow and the ancient sages are used it to meditate. The most interesting part of this cave is its structure. Muniyara is fascinating destination for anthropologists and archaeologists from all over the world. The place is a famous film shooting spot.


POTHAMEDU


Pothamedu is a village is just 5 km away from munnar.because o fthis place s altitude the surrounding places can be seen clearly.imporatnatly The panoramic view of greenish tea, coffee and cardamom plantation and the cloud kissing mountain is exciting one.certainly the adventure travelers should like this place because of the activity "Trekking" takes place here.The rolling hills, the lush mountain and the breathtaking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks.


MARAYOOR



It is just 40 km away from munnar .This is the only place in Kerala that has a natural growth of sandalwood trees. The sandalwood factory of  the Forest Department, the caves (muniyaras) with murals and relics from the New Stone Age civilization and the children's park spread across  a hectare of land under the canopy of a single Banyan tree are of great interest to tourists. Thoovanam Waterfall and Rajiv Gandhi National Park are also nearby.




MATTUPETTI

Mattupetty dam is approximately 13 km from Munnar in Kerala. It is situated at an altitude of 1700m above the sea level The dam is the perfect spot to see hundred ranges of high yielding cattle nurtured. Close to the Dam is a beautiful lake, which is a well known tourist spot in the area. It offers boating facilities. mattupetti is highly famous for the Indo-Swiss live stock projects.The tourists are permitted to see three cattle sheds at the farm out of the eleven cattle sheds. The Mattupetti dam as well as the lake is at close proximity from the farm and is a very charming picnic spot. 

Blossom International Park



The Blossom International Park is located at 3 Km away from Munnar on the way to Cochin. Commencing from Head works Dam it stretches about 15 acres. Beautiful gardens with rare varieties of plants and flowers, shady trees, facilities for water cycling, boating cycling for kids, roller skating etc are amusing. In addition Tree houses, ropeways and swings are arranged. Anybody who wants to spend some leisure time at the lap of serene natural beauty will find this park, the right place. Entrance Fees - Rs.10.00/ for adult and Rs.2.00/- for child.
 


How To Reach Munnar

By Air : The nearest airport is located at Kochi, which is well connected to other Indian cities and a few international destinations. Other nearby airports are located at Madurai and Coimbatore. All of these destinations are connected to most of the major Indian cities. Get a prior check done on the airlines schedule and plan your travel accordingly, considering which place you are flying in from. Buses and taxis are easily available from all these destinations to reach Munnar.

By Road : Though a bit winding owing to the hilly area, the roads in this part of the country are well built. State transport buses ply regularly between Munnar and other neighbouring cities. 

By Rail : Munnar being a hill city does not have a railway station, therefore, if travelling by train you will have to travel to any of the nearby railheads such as Kochi, Madurai or Kottayam and board a bus or hire a taxi from there to reach Munnar.
